The Fabulous Krispy Kreme

I bought a dozen assorted Krispy Kreme donuts yesterday because i had a coupon that allows me to receive one free dozen of Original Glazed if i were to purchase a dozen. Also, because it was Donut Day yesterday, they gave away a set of 12 lil' donut keychains. Just fabulous.

First out of the box was a chocolate coated 'nut that revealed itself to be pumped full of some white fluffy stuff. It was nice. Next was the crinkly brown one drenched in icing with a hole in the middle. Lightly chocolatey. Didn't last long. A third? Nah...not gonna tell u...go give it a try.

Around here we think of every day as donut day, but those with more self-restraint know the real thing comes the first Friday in June – yesterday, in fact. I did a research on this and found out that the celebration was launched in 1938, during the Great Depression, as a Salvation Army fund-raiser honoring the volunteer who served coffee and fresh donuts by the thousands to homesick soldiers in France during World War I. Betcha didn't know bout this.

Wanna make it yourself, here you go:

7-1/2 cups sugar

3/4 cup lard

8 eggs

3 large cans evaporated milk

3 large cans water

18 cups flour

18 teaspoons baking powder

7-1/2 teaspoons salt

8 teaspoons nutmeg
Cream sugar and lard together, beat eggs, add evaporated milk and water. Add liquid to creamed mixture. Mix flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg in large sieve and sift into other mixture. Add enough flour to make e stiff dough. Roll and cut. Five pounds of lard are required to fry the doughnuts. Yield: approximately 250 donuts.

Fabulous 40-Somethings

Is it just me or are the 40-somethings in Hollywood getting sexier? I'm not talking bout the laydess but the gorgeous men of Hollywood. BTW, let me set the record straight....i'm not gay.....i'm doing this to satisfy the insatiable cravings for men of my fellow batchmates namely Flora, Yieng,etc. So let's get the partay started. Nominee No.1: George Clooney. He was always handsome and funny... but his salt-and-pepper hair took him from tasty to delicious and Brad Pitt was always "Sexiest Man Alive" material, but we, generally speaking not me in particular find him way more desirable now that he's a doting dad. (Angelina Jolie does too!) I've compiled my picks for the sexiest 40-something fellas. Take a look, then tell me whether you find each gentleman hot... or not. Here are the nominees:

I have just seen this year's MTV movie awards show online and I must say that it was a night of big stars (Tom Cruise), big winners (Will Smith, Johnny Depp), big music numbers (Coldplay, Pussycat Dolls) and big, tongue-in-cheek displays of ego. Here are this year's winners:

Best Female Performance: Ellen Page (Juno) -a must-see movie,u can get the softcopy from me

Best Fight: Sean Faris and Cam Gigandet (Never Back Down)

Best Summer Movie So Far: Iron Man - hands down,definitely the best summer movie so far

Best Male Performance: Will Smith (I Am Legend)

Best Comedic Performance: Johnny Depp (Pirates: At World's End)

MTV Generation Award: Adam Sandler

Breakthrough Performance: Zac Efron (Hairspray) - hated him but loved the movie

Best Villain: Johnny Depp (Sweeney Todd)

Best Kiss: Briana Evigan and Robert Hoffman (Step Up 2)-i prefer channing tatum coz hoffman was kinda stiff-lookin'

Best Movie: Transformers - no introduction needed

Movie Spoof: Juno

This year's show was one of the raunchiest Movie Awards shows to date.
First of all, Transformers hottie Megan Fox promised, "the second one's (transformers upcoming sequel) going to be f---ing badass!" [ i love your choice of words Megan, u sounded like Blair Waldorf in a way]. Then, the evening took a classy break when Coldplay performed the title track from their upcoming album, Viva la Vida, for the first time live on TV, reprising the street-urchins-in-a-marching-band costumes they sported in the "Violet Hill" video. Moreover, the night's other musical performers, the Pussycat Dolls, performed their new self-loving single, "When I Grow Up," which had lyrics about wanting to be famous, wanting to be in magazines, on TV and in movies. "Careful what you wish for because you just might get it," they sang over an electro beat (oooo...sounds like an invitation to me).

Maxims Hot 100 has been revealed... and coming in at Number 1 is the Victoria Secret's Angel, Marisa Miller! She has had an amazing 2008, and can now add the crown of Maxims Number 1 to her list of 2008 accolades. Marisa managed to fend of top competition from the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Eva Mendes and Jessica Biel to be crowned this years winner...
Maxims magazine editor insists Marisa was his choice because "she represents the return of the great American supermodel".

Frankly speaking, I have minor disagreement with this year's Top 10 list as I feel that the honeyed-brunette bombshell, Gisele Bundchen and my current favourite, Petra Nemcova(drool) should at least be in the Top 10 list. Lindsay Lohan? C'mon people! You guys need a reality check.

Jared Leto - the fab rocker of 30 Seconds To Mars

Just in. For the first time, the MTV Asia Awards show that celebrates and pays tribute to regional and international music talents will be held at the Arena of Stars in Genting on August 2, 2008 and will be hosted by Jared Leto (Flora, r u drooling at him right now?) of 30 Seconds to Mars. "It's an honor to be a part of what I'm sure will be an exciting and unforgettable night in a magical and beautiful country," says Leto. "MTV has been an important home for 30 Seconds to Mars throughout our worldwide journey. I am very proud to join everyone in such a unique and gorgeous location like Malaysia. It is going to be a crazy and wonderful night."

OMG she is ridiculously hot, isn’t she? Anyway, I was told that as a child, Lively was homeschooled and one of her homeschool classmates was Penn Badgley (the equally hot on-screen boyfriend Dan Humphreys in GossipGirl). In late 2007, it was reported that she was dating Penn Badgley, though she refused to ever comment on the rumors - in Teen Vogue interview, when asked if she was dating him. She said that “I try not to talk about my dating life. I want to, but once you start, it’s all downhill from there.” In May 2008, People magazine published photos of Lively and Badgley kissing while on vacation in Mayan Riviera, Mexico(woohoo way to go dude!).

David Cook – the fab guy from Idol

Let me kick off the first entry into my new fantabulous blog with a mini fact file on David Cook. David Roland Cook (born December 20, 1982) is a fabulous rock singer and songwriter and on May 21, 2008, this dude won the seventh season of American Idol. Next, let us play a game I called “I Didn’t Know That”. So, did you know that…
i ) Cook was the lead singer and guitarist of the band Axium from 1999 until 2006
ii ) His musical influences include Our Lady Peace, Alice in Chains (???), Big Wreck (another big question mark) and Pearl Jam
iii) He originally did not plan to try out for the show as he was going on a trip to China; he came to the auditions initially to support his younger brother Andrew and then decided to try out himself (oh thank God for that, if u didn’t try out, that Miley Cyrus wannabe, David Archuleta would have won)
On April 1, 2008, a few hours after American Idol aired, it was reported that Cook was rushed to the hospital because his "heart was palpitating at a high rate and his blood pressure was high (shocking!!!)
iv) During the finale of season 7 of American Idol, Cook appeared in a commercial for the game franchise Guitar Hero (I love this game!), mimicking Tom Cruise
v ) Following Cook's American Idol victory, Cook broke several Billboard chart records. Most notable was his record shattering feat of having eleven songs debut on the Hot 100 that week, beating the previous record set by Miley Cyrus ( I hate her, u suck Miley!) in 2006 when she had six songs debut on the chart
